Event Damage Waiver

We understand that little accidents can happen when guests gather to celebrate. Our Event Damage Waiver is designed to give you peace of mind while enjoying your beautifully styled afternoon tea experience.

When we set up your table and return later for pickup, our china, linens and serving pieces are in your care in between. Many of our pieces are vintage or hard to find, and we look after each one closely. The damage waiver is an optional add-on that covers the small accidents that happen at any good party.

If you choose to decline the waiver, you are responsible for the replacement cost of any item that is damaged or missing at pickup.

How It Works

The waiver is 5% of your booking, and covers up to 3 times it’s value per event. It is non-refundable and applies whether or not anything is damaged. It must be added to your booking before your event date and can’t be added afterward.

What’s Covered

The waiver covers ordinary accidental damage to Casa Zaara's standard event equipment during the agreed rental period, including:

  • Accidental breakage of china, teacups, saucers, and serving plates

  • Minor chips or cracks to standard glassware and serving pieces

  • Tea, food and drink stains on linens from normal use

  • Minor scratches or dents to flatware, trays and tiered stands

What’s Not Covered

The waiver does not cover:

  • Missing, lost, or stolen items

  • Intentional damage, misuse, or gross negligence

  • Damage to premium, specialty, or separately rented items unless expressly included

  • Damage caused by unauthorized moving, dismantling, or improper handling of equipment

  • Damage occurring after the agreed collection time due to delayed or denied access

  • Pieces put in a dishwasher, microwave or oven

  • Candle wax, burns, marker, dye or glitter

  • Damage beyond the limit above

Anything not covered, and damage above the specified covered limit is charged at replacement cost.

We ask of you

  • Leave everything where we set it, or in the crates we leave behind.

  • There’s no need to wash anything; we take care of that.

  • Keep pieces indoors or in the shade.

  • Make sure someone is there at pickup time, or give us clear access.

How We Check

We photograph your table at setup and count every piece at pickup. If anything is damaged or missing and isn’t covered, we’ll send you photos within 48 hours. We’ll then charge the replacement cost to the card on file.

Important Details

The waiver fee is non-refundable and is not a security deposit.

The waiver applies only to covered accidental damage during the agreed event period. Any loss or damage outside the waiver's coverage may be charged separately at the applicable repair or replacement cost, as outlined in the event agreement.

Casa Zaara will handle setup and collection of all provided equipment. We kindly ask that all items remain at the event location and be available for collection at the agreed time.

Acknowledgement

By accepting the event proposal and paying the Event Damage Waiver Fee, you, the client acknowledges and agrees to these terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
